Alright, enough photos already. We went to the nurse practitioner today and she said that Fiona is 25 inches tall and weights 16 pounds 12.2 ounces. She is at about the 66 percentile for her age for height and weight. I got props for still having Fiona be 100% breastfed and looking so healthy. Sandra thinks she will burn away some of her healthy, chunky rolls as soon as she figures out the crawling thing. Although she also said she would not be surprised if Fiona was walking by 9 months. She was a bit surprised by Fiona's ability to sit so well on her own (is she starting to sit unassisted? Uh, she's been doing that for a few weeks now. Oh really?!) and was stunned that Fiona has started rolling to her intended destination when placed on the floor (obviously). She said that she didn't think she'd ever heard of any 6 month old that rolled with intention like that. Shrug. We just watch her and report the facts, ma'am. Her assessment was that Fiona is a very happy baby who is clearly getting a lot of time to explore her world, and it agrees with her. Yeah! She said to just keep doing what we're doing.

We did not start solids this weekend, as previously reported. We tried to find a particular homemade baby food cookbook thingy, but none of the Seattle area bookstores had it in stock, so we'll have to order it online and wait for it. But we did check a similar book out of the library, so maybe Fiona won't have to wait so long to finally get a taste of the good stuff. We'll keep you posted and make sure to have pictures of her first tastes.
