Photo Update
This summer has been a bit of a challenge. Fiona loves her new little sister SOOOO much, but it's a bit overwhelming. We've had such trouble with listening. She's wonderful about 85% of the time and the other 15%, wow. The other day she actually stood in the driveway and spit at me. I was far enough away that there was no danger of being spit on, but I was stunned. Where the heck did she learn THAT behavior? And with my overall respect issues, that was not a good moment.
Last night, she actually went to bed/sleep alone (in our bed, next to the sleeping baby). A sight never before seen in our house.
And now for some photos:
Daddy and Fiona, morning snuggle buddies
Daddy and Fiona letting me know how they feel about me taking a pic of them in the morning
I've never seen Fiona sleeping in her bed before, but she came home one evening, went into her room, climbed into her bed and took a nap, shocking
Sisters
Fiona executing a tackle on her friend at ballet...I didn't know they taught tackling at ballet
Fiona with her drama class after their final performance, July 30th
This was the drama class picture...now you all have seen Fiona posing and smiling for pictures...this was her "smile" for the drama class picture. Granted, the photographer made them all fold their hands in their laps, but that looks more like a grimace than a smile to me.
See, that's a Fiona smile.
That little blur in motion in the center of the picture is Fiona on her first day of gymnastics class, August 2nd at Metropolitan Gymnastics
Okay so here Fiona is barely discernible amongst the foam in the foam pit she just leapt into, but sheesh, it's hard to take good photos of moving things with my digital camera, the delay between push button and take photo is epic.
The next three photos display Fiona's front braids which she wore for about...four days before I made her take them out and wash her hair. When we originally started putting them in, it was all going to be braided, but she made me stop with just the front ones. It's still pretty cute and she wanted to keep them in forever.
The next two photos were taken at Angle Lake on August 4th before ballet class
Me and My Gal at Pagliacci's in Bellevue, Saturday, August 7th (the braids are still in)
Fiona and Mayara at Pike Place Market, Tuesday, August 10th (no more braids)

Our busy week
We have been getting out and about meeting folks for the past week. Violet mostly sleeps, but Fiona has been having a great time networking.
At West Fenwick Park up the road from our house.
At the Water Garden in downtown Kent (Kent Moms Group Meetup)
At the Ballard Locks (Seattle 80s Ladies with Babies Meetup)
Checking out the Fish Ladder at the Ballard Locks
Fiona and her new found friend running up the hill at the Ballard Locks, so they could roll back down. Fun!

Being Little Miss Muffet's spider pulling a watermelon out of the ground...hey, it's an acting class.
Fiona being a ghost
Being a ghost, demanding her bone back from the teeny, tiny women, at drama class
You can barely see Fiona behind the girl with the orange shirt. Fiona's being a Billy Goat Gruff, most of the other people are moving on to being trolls.
Okay, now they are all Billy Goats Gruff, but the action on this camera is so slow, I had a hard time getting Fiona in the shot every time. Phooey.
And that's just the things I took pictures of!
More activities slated for next week, including more drama and her first ballet class!!!
